Good health is shaped by more than exercise. Australia’s updated 24-hour movement guidelines bring physical activity, sitting and sleep together to support wellbeing across the whole day.

A Healthy 24 Hours

  • Move: Be active most days and include several hours of light movement.
  • Strengthen: Add strength exercises twice a week and balance or mobility activities three times a week.
  • Sit Less: Break up long periods of sitting as often as possible.
  • Sleep Well: Adults should aim for 7–9 hours, or 7–8 hours for older adults.

Start Small
